10 FREE WAYS TO BRING MORE ENERGY TO YOUR LIFE

While cleaning up my bookshelf, I came across Jan issue of Women Weekly. I stopped the cleaning and sunk myself into my cosy coach. Browsing through old magazines is something fun, for me.

Old magazines always have sentimental value & I tend to keep them as long as I can; until I have to clear up the space for newer issues. Normally, I will tear out the artiles I want and keep them in a ring file before I send the magazines for recycling.

I summarized below from Jan issue and add in some of my personal tips -- 10 FREE WAYS TO BRING MORE ENERGY TO YOUR LIFE

1. Dress up!
when you looks good, smell good; you definitely feel good. Also, nicely dressed can lift your confidence level.

(Lynn's tips: Looks good and smell good doesn't need to be costly. Keep your hair clean and neat, wear clothes and perfumes according to your age as well as your job is the most important after all. )

2. Exercise
Exercise improves your blood circulation and higher inflow of oxygen will make you feel less fatigue but more alert. And, you will looks good as your muscles are firmer and healthier.

(Lynn's exercise tips: Try to workout with the aid of video. I personally found Cheng Door Yin is the best instructors among all. You will see your thighs and arms getting firmer after few sessions of workout. You may not need to follow through the whole session. Stop whenever you feel tired. Slowly increase the time by 2 mins in every next sessions.

3. Sleep well
It's very important to have a deep good night sleep. Your body recharge during your sleep. If the process doesn't goes well, you may have hard time the next day.

(Lynn's tips: have a cup of warm honey before your sleep. Make sure the room is completely dark and temperature is appropriate)

4. Reboot your digestive system
When your digestive system is functioning well, its more likely you get most of the nutrient from the food that you are eating.

(Lynn's tips: Once a while, have pure yogurt, fruits and nuts for breakfast or snack. Eating enough of fiber, less processed food and enough rest is good for your bowel movement.)

5. Fuel up
Try to includes high nutrient food in your meal or snack. Opt for nuts or fruits to replace unhealthy food.

6. Stay calm
Negative feelings is bad for your health. Try to control your breath when you feel stressed, anxious, worry or angry.

(Lynn's tips: Take deep breath whenever bad feeling crops up. I have to deal with anger a lot as I have short temper. Divert your attention, try to do some other thing, take a cup of drink or just as simple as walk away can instantly cool yourself down)

7. Grow some plants
House plants like bamboo palms can bring vibrant chi into your house.

(Lynn's tips: Spend some time to look at your green plants can help to soothe your tired eyes as well as to feel the joy of life)

8. Spend time with happy people
Try to mix with positive thinking crowd. They will inspire you, support you and make you feel good.

9. Choose colour
Bring bright vibrant colour to your living space, including your screen saver!

10. Keep hydrated
Having yourself hydrated is an ideal way to push you through the day.

Ladies, take a break!

No matter you are a stay at home mom or working mom, allowing yourself a reasonable break is crucial. Many of us may find it difficult to break away from house chores, or packed daily routines. Some working mom may say not easy to take leave, or to get a back fill.

Is taking a break out of your routine important? Some may say, my job doesn't require much physical movement, or a home maker doesn't means cleaning and washing all the time. Well, I used to think this way. However, day by day, you feel tired, wear out or bad mood. You are longing for me-time. You start recalling your good old days, as free as a bird. Here are signs that you need a me-time break very much.

To love yourself like how you treasure your job, or your family; give yourself a reasonable time off. Pampered yourself once a while is very mood-lifting. There are numerous ways to rejuvenate, depends on which is more effective; as individual results may vary. (a standard disclaimer huh)

Having a quality break doesn't need to be costly. Here are some ideas for consideration.

1. Arranging a day out with your BFF. No worry on what to say, what to bring along or to deal with tantrum. Just drop in to any shop that you like to. Spend your time there as long as you like. I normally buy clothes, accessories or nail polish during this time.

2. If you are longing for a physical theraphy, go for a massage/spa, then head for afternoon tea. Normally, I'll buy myself a book/magazine, then look for a place that I'd like to hang out for the next few hours. Spend your afternoon in ambience environment, sipping your coffee while reading is very relaxing.

3. Wanna have a break with minimal cost? Why not, you can still have your afternoon tea at outlets that offer tea break promotion. And know what, most of them keep the latest magazines on their rack! Like, Seasons, SDS....

4. Go for hair cut and hair treatment not only relaxing but makes you will feel good at least for the rest of the week.

5. For certain people, day off doesn't mean outing day. If you perfer to rest at home, please make sure no housework. You may spend your day on grooming (doing your own hair spa, DIY medi or pedicure), reading or even sleeping. This shall be the best way to recharge yourself.

6. For those who enjoy physical workout, you may plan to have a bowling, badminton games, hiking, swimming or go to gym. Sweating will make you feel fresh as well as to generate positive chi.

I usually have my me-time after kids bed time or when they went off for tuition. This is the time I recharge myself as well as to plan out what I need to do the next day, including my tuition lesson plan.

Korean drama : The Moon Embracing The Sun

yeah, just finished another Korean drama, The Moon Embracing the Sun.

Quite an interesting story with pretty and handsome faces. This is the first time I watched Korean traditional drama that set place in the palace. The series is adapted from the novel of the same name written by Jung Eun-gwol and directed by Kim Do-hoon and Lee Seong-jun.

Sun in the title refers to king while moon is queen.

It tells of a touching, poignant love story between a fictional king of the Joseon Dynasty and an intelligent, well-loved girl from a noble family. She was chosen as crown princess, but due to the queen's family clan is trying to gain more power from the reign, she was killed. Fate has bring the Chief Shaman to be her killer and rescuer. She resurrected as a shaman with the helps of the Chief Shaman. She returned after 8 years with very little trace of memories for her past. However, she has not been forgotten by those she left behind. The king, whom she supposed to married to, manage to recognised her and seriously investigate about his crown princess death. At the same time, the king is facing intense political conspiracy from royal clan. The interesting parts lies on how the royal couple survived in the vying political turbulent as well as to reclaim her rightful place as the queen of Joseon.

Korean Drama Craze

Just finish watching "Missing You" cast by Yoon Eun-hye (as Soo-yeon) and Park Yoo-chun (as Jung-woo). These shall explained why I've been so "busy" lately. I'm too quiet recently until it draws my cousin attention that "you are no longer writing blogs?" Well, I'm very busy.....busy buried myself in Korean drama, rushing from episod to episod; trying to finish up the series in one breath.

You may wonder why only recently I have the craze (or crash ;-p) in Korean drama? Hmm... this may be due to the fact that I'm a late bloomer. LOL. Actually, I'd say thanks to Android Apps - Viki which provides many recent dramas at no cost. And it comes with English subtitle too! Viki has a list of tv series and movies from different countries. Those who used Android system shall give it a try.

Well, this is pretty a new drama series where the story is mainly about romance between 2 high school sweethearts Jung-woo and Soo-yeon. They were separated in a horrifying tragedy that continues to weigh down on them as adults. The guilt-ridden detective, Han Jung-woo has been desperately searching for Soo-yeon for years, but when he crosses paths with her again, she has already become someone else with a new identity. Meanwhile, Kang Hyung-joon (Yoo Seung-ho), rich with the money his mother took from Han family, returns to Korea for revenge. He appears warm and nice, but turns out to be a psychopathic murderer and uses the alias Harry Borrison to get his revenge on Jung-woo's father for murdering his mother. To escape from the murder charge, he and his accomplice try to accuse Soo-yeon for being the person who planned and murdered.

In the end, the fire of vengeance has destroy Hyung-jun young life. But this has bring both Soo-yeon And Jung-woo together.

After completed this drama, I realised that I've given up too much of sleeping time as well as fun time on other activities. I forgot about my manicure, I haven't really look at the magazine that I bought a week ago. I even not writing anything lately. My brain is full. I can't afford to keep them anymore but to write them down, slowly. Please stay with me until the next post. :-)

I'm on another drama now, but in a much slower pace. The feast of God, starring by Lee Sang-woo as Kim Do-yoon, Sung Yu-ri as Go Joon-young, Seo Hyun-jin as Ha In-joo and Joo Sang-wook as Choi Jae-ha. The story is mainly about the fate of two girls whose identities were switched and later become rivaling chefs of traditional royal cuisine. Their pasts, their loves, and who their identities are tangled in a breathtaking, tragic, and triumphant drama about what it means to preserve truth and integrity in the midst of lies and corruption.

My 1st post

After researching & planning for more than a month, finally my blog has come to life. I'm more than excited to start writing. Too many things to tell, to share & to ask. It may sound a bit old school by kick start my first post talking about myself. However, this should be the best ever 1st post that I can think of.

I used to be a working woman for the past 11 yrs. Working 9-6, Mon-Fri, ups and downs, happy & sad moments. Dealing with purchase orders, reschedulings, problem invoices not to forget quality issues. Mundane but secured, in my own comfort zone.

Two years back, my spouse relocated to a country which is 90mins ferry ride + 45mins car ride + 65mins plane ride away from me. I started pondering (seriously) about future. Kiddos' & ours'. At that moment, my son was 5 while my daughter was two.

To reduce the impact from house chores stress, he get a live-in helper for me. Yet, I found myself having very lil time to spend with kiddos, not to say for myself. Battling with fatigue, undone task, skype-ing with my bread-winner, oversee the new helper as well as spending time with kids. I kept reminding myself to allocate at least 1 hour for each of them. Teaching, guiding & interacting. Sometime, ended my day in despair; unable to accomplish the tasks.

A close friend said, there is no regret to let go your desire to pursue career advancement. They only need you now but not after they have grown up. It kept me ponder for some time. They are in their vital years that nothing can be more valuable than to be there for them. To be with them now is to shape them to how I want them to be, also to build a stern foundation; not only knowledge but their characters. With these noble thoughts, I decided to quit my job.

There I go & here I'm now. Forget about my career plan, forget about my pay day, forget about my nice working suits/shoes & trays of accessories, as well as fun luncheon chats with my fellow colleagues. Too, forget about worrying what to fill up in my resume after years & what should I do when my kids are no longer need me. In return, I keep looking at ways to add value to my life, to be more organize, and make full use of myself. I overwhelm myself with a long to-do list; with things that I can't do when I was working. Somehow, I found myself less efficient compare to when I was a working mom. Why? I suppose to have more time than before? Who stolen my time?

Well, I'll tell you why & how to overcome this in my next post.

Stay tuned. :-)
