Sandwich with homemade bread

I'm not a fans of sandwich and thus, it doesn't cross my mind to spend in Subway. Not even once a year. However, this is the easiest one, if you have to prepare meal for kids in a lazy afternoon. To make sandwich appears more sumptuous to me, I bake my own bread. At least this should motivate my taste buds.

To bake a loaf of bread with my bread machine doesn't require much skills as well as effort. Here is the recipe and time requires is 3 hrs in total.

I did it the nite before and the only challenging part is to cut the bread into even slices. It requires good motor skill. :-)

I always stock up canned tuna as it can goes well with bread or Jacob crackers. Now, I'd easily take out one from my cabinet, diced in onions, sandwich spreads & a handful of raisins. I'll toss in toasted sunflower/pimpkin seeds or almond nibs (if I do prepared some earlier). Lastly, add in a slice of cheese, cut it into small pieces with spoon.

I prefer tuna spread to goes with toasted bread. To enhance the taste, spread some salted butter on the bread before toasting.

You will see kids licking their fingers, asking when to have it again. Spoil them further with a cup of hot chocolate, and you will make them smiling from cheek to cheek

a tooth for a tooth

I was watching MV while downloading oldies from a website last Friday evening while the kids were busy doing their art craft. I collected some toilet rolls months before school holidays for them to make into paper binoculars. After the chaotic art craft session, I was about to finish downloading the songs that I want. Thinking since the computer is on, why not let them watch some cartoons from YouTube. Oggy came across my mind, and I managed to get a nice one.
I was glad that it keeps them quiet for some time. While helping Yvaine to fix her binoculars with string, I saw the screen showing "a tooth for a tooth". Thinking this is a chance to let Ian learn up a new proverb, I paused the video, asked him to guess what is the meaning. He said he never learn this before, so, I translated it into mandarin.

"so, have you come across 以牙还牙?"
"Ohhhhh......I know"
"explain, please."
"It's about to change ones milk tooth to permanent tooth"
@.@** this may be the one and only tooth concern for an eight years old kid.

** meaning of a tooth for a tooth, or 以牙还牙 is : to punish ones wrongdoing by inflicting the equal degree of injury to the wrongdoer.
